Seth Flaxman

Seth is the CEO and Co-Founder of Democracy Works, a nonprofit improving civic engagement by modernizing the voter experience. Seth fell in love with voting in high school when he drove friends to the polls to approve the Nyack Public School budget. After receiving a BA in economics at Columbia, Seth worked as a researcher at the Council on Foreign Relations and Berkman Center for Internet and Society. In 2009, a determination to understand how the internet could revolutionize the public sector brought him to the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where he received a MPP and developed the idea for Democracy Works. Since then he has been recognized as one of Forbes magazine's "30 Under 30" in the field of law and policy, a Draper Richards Kaplan entrepreneur, Ashoka Fellow, and Bluhm Helfand Social Innovation Fellow for his accomplishments as a social entrepreneur and civic technology leader.
