Lydia Daly

Lydia Daly is the Senior Vice President of Social Media and Branded Content Strategy at Velocity, Viacom’s branded content studio. She is the social media strategic lead for all integrated marketing executions across MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, Spike, LOGO, CMT and more. She develops groundbreaking, data driven solutions for social and integrated marketing campaigns, including Viacom’s industry-leading suite of Echo products, which are leveraged by many of the world’s largest advertisers. Daly oversees Velocity’s Echo unit spearheading the ideation, innovation, implementation and measurement of all social media programs for advertising partners. Her team also runs the recently launched, Velocity Content Network, a division that creates social media branded content and leads the casting and execution of all Social Influencer campaigns across Velocity.

Daly joined Velocity in 2013 as the Vice President of Social Media Activations and Earned Media. As Velocity’s chief social strategist, she had a pivotal role growing Viacom’s social media capabilities and roster of strategic partnerships. She also launched the Echo Social Graph, a proprietary analytics tool that measures the effectiveness and virality of social media marketing campaigns.

Previously, Daly was the Strategic Planning Director for JWT in New York and Singapore, where she worked on a combination of brand, digital and channel planning with a focus on creating integrated multi-channel solutions. Previously, Daly also worked as a Senior Digital Strategist at 180RIOT, the digital arm of 180 Amsterdam, working with clients like Adidas on online content strategies. She also served as a Communications Strategist at Meteorite London, working on accounts spanning retail, leisure, charity and B2B, with a primary focus on direct response and digital media. Daly started her agency career with Draft FCB London's Graduate Trainee Program where within just one year advanced to Account Manager/Strategist, working on global brands like Nestlé and Proctor & Gamble.

She has received numerous industry recognitions over the years. She was recently named to the 2015 Multichannel News ‘40 Under 40’ list and profiled by Broadcasting & Cable as a ‘Next Wave Young Leader’ redefining the television industry. She also received the 2016 Cynopsis Top Women in Digital Award for industry leadership and presents at conferences nationwide including Social Media Week, SXSW and more. Daly and her work are regularly featured in press including Variety, Adweek, MediaPost, CNBC, Multichannel News, Digiday, TechCrunch and Bloomberg.

Daly has her BSc in International Marketing from Dublin City University and attended the Institute of Direct Marketing at King’s College London. Originally from Ireland, she currently resides in New York City.
