Alex Skatell

Alex is Founder and CEO of Independent Journal Review-IJR. His interest in tech and media began at Clemson University. While there, he developed numerous iPhone apps, including a top 25 application that was featured by Gizmodo as well as making it in the "What's Hot" section of the iTunes app store. He then went on to start IJR, where today, it is a top 50 website, and reaches more than 35 million monthly readers. The site employees more than 50 reporters/writers. On election day, 2016, IUR was the most engaged news site, followed by The New York Times, Buzz Feed and CNN. Alex also founded IMGE, a full service media digital agency, which he sold in 2017. He is a board member of Clemson University, Arthur Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership, the Georgetown University Institute of Politics and Public Service, Digital Content Next and the News Media Alliance.
