Robert Gordon

Grammy Award winning writer Robert Gordon is the author of 6 books, and producer/director of 8 feature documentaries. Gordon’s most recent documentary, Best of Enemies, focuses on the 1968 debates between William F. Buckley Jr. and Gore Vidal to examine the state of television punditry today. It was shortlisted for the 2016 Best Documentary Academy Award and the remake rights were picked up by Aaron Sorkin. His most recent book, Respect Yourself, about soul music and the civil rights movement, is being developed as a limited series by Paramount TV. His subjects have ranged from blues great Muddy Waters to Elvis Presley to photographer William Eggleston. Gordon lives in Memphis, Tennessee.
