Jon Gothold

Jon Gothold is a Partner and the Executive Creative Director of Amusement Park, the largest independently owned advertising agency in Orange County, California. Before co-founding Amusement Park, he also co-founded DGWB Advertising in January of 1988 and helped lead its successful 27-year run. Prior to that, Jon spent time as an art director at NW Ayer, Cunningham and Walsh, and several smaller boutique agencies. During the early 80’s he was a show director for an event marketing company in Los Angeles, where he helped launch the Apple Macintosh in January of 1984.

His work has been recognized by most of the biggies-One Show, Clios, Andys, New York Art Directors, Communication Arts, etc. in addition to consistently being the dominant creative agency in the local Addys.

He was a Communication Arts judge in 2004, and in 2002 he won the Ethics in America award, which just doesn’t happen too often for advertising people.

He is a third generation native southern Californian, where he currently resides with several generations of his family. He is a frequent speaker and educator, plays guitar and sings in an alt country band, and in between all of that he searches obsessively for children’s advertising premiums from the 1930’s and 40’s.
