Maya Draisin

Maya Draisin is the Head of Marketing at WIRED and has been with the brand for over ten years. Maya previously served as the promotions director, special projects director, and most recently the brand & strategy director. She has been integral in founding tent pole extensions like WIRED Store, WIRED Business and Health Conferences, National GeekDad Day, and the WIRED Insiders, as well as for custom content programs including the award-winning The Connective, a digital magazine for Cisco Systems, and #MakeTechHuman for Nokia, a year long exploration into where technology is taking us. As Head of Marketing, Maya pursues and oversees new business and revenue opportunities for WIRED while ensuring that all extensions reflect the brand’s ethos.

Prior to WIRED, Maya co-founded The Webby Awards (a.k.a The Oscars of the Internet), and it’s judging body, The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. IADAS began with 500 members, including musician David Bowie, Internet co-founder Vinton Cerf, "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening, Real Networks CEO Rob Glaser, and Huffington Post Founder Arianna Huffington.

She also served as Vice-President of the San Francisco Arts Commission for 8 years and co-wrote a Sundance selected short film called “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness,” a humorous look at the not-so-funny fight for reproductive rights.

She has been named to MIN’s “21 Most Intriguing People in Media ” and Katie Couric's "Women Who Should Be Famous.”
