Amy Carney
Amy Carney is president, advertiser sales, strategy & research for Sony Pictures Television (SPT). In this position, Carney oversees the sale of commercial inventory in SPT's first-run and off-network programs and digital platforms such as PlayStation, as well as FEARnet and 3Net. She directs the sales teams based in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Carney also leads SPT's worldwide research group which conducts and assembles all program, sales, channels and corporate research. The research group supports all of SPT's businesses - production, distribution and channels - worldwide, with teams based in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, London and Hong Kong.
Prior to joining SPT in September 2003, Carney previously served as vice president, sales, for Univision Online in New York, where she launched the company's online sales division and created the national sales and client services team. From 1999-2000, she served as a general manager, Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch, Inc., launching a local content information website and creating the sales, content, marketing and operations management team. Prior to that, she served as general sales manager at WTVR-TV, the CBS affiliate in Richmond, VA and, from 1989 to 1994, as vice president, general sales manager, Telerep, Inc. in New York.
Carney currently sits on the board of national media sales company ITN Networks, Inc. of which SPT is a part owner. Additionally, she is on the board of The Women's Entertainment and Technology Board at Digital Hollywood, involved in the Step Up Organization in Los Angeles and is a member of Revenue 50.
