Bobby Goldstein

In the early 60’s Bob Goldstein was a bass player with The Continental Rockers and was dissatisfied with the bass amps on the market. And there began his quest to design speakers.

He headed into the late 60’s as sound engineer for Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. These were the days when the sound engineer did it all. Drove the truck, loaded the gear and ran Front of House. Who knew that working 24/7 was illegal?

When he started Maryland Sound in 1966 it was through sheer determination to create nothing but the best sound for Frankie. And, then came Jim Croce, Stevie Wonder, Mott the Hoople, Parliament Funkadelic, Bootsy’s Rubber Band, The Cure, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, David Bowie, Gloria Estefan, Hall and Oates, Luther Vandross, Dolly Parton, Harry Chapin, Pink Floyd, Slash, Steve Vai, Josh Groban and the list goes on…….
