Anthony Mason

Anthony Mason is senior correspondent for business and economics for CBS news. He is News-Anchor for the weekday edition of CBS This Morning and Co-Anchor of CBS This Morning Saturday. Mason joined CBS News in 1986. He was assigned to the London Bureau from 1987-1990 and traveled extensively, reporting from more than 30 countries for CBS. He contributed to the 1991 Soviet coup attempt, which was award-winning coverage. In 1985, Mason won the New York Associated Press award for General Excellence of Individual Reporting on Vietnam veterans. Mason was named CBS News' Business Correspondent in 1998. His series, "Life and Debt in America," which aired on the "CBS Evening News" in early 2008, underscored some of the problems that ultimately led to the financial crisis and won him another Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement by a reporter and the Pennsylvania Associated Press Award for best feature story. Mason obtained his B.A. in English with a minor in government from Georgetown University in 1980. He has been working in New York since 1993.
