Sam Gordon is an eleven-year-old female football player who made headlines when a video of her tackling highlights went viral. The video was viewed nearly 5 million times in just three days. Sam was one of the top 50 most googled female athletes in 2012. She won a Cartoon Network Hall of Game Award Show trophy for Most Viral Video and was the first female football player to make the cover of a Wheaties cereal box. Sam was featured in a Super Bowl commercial and was the inspiration behind the NFL’s Together We Make Football campaign. In 2014, Sam appeared at the MAKERS Conference for an interview with AOL's Chairman and CEO, Tim Armstrong -- captivating audience members ranging from Gloria Steinem to NASA astronaut Mae Jemison with her story. After taking a year off football to make the US Soccer Olympic Development Program and star in track, Sam is back on the gridiron tearing it up. ESPN recently named Sam its "Star of the Night" after her football highlights from this season wowed anchors and viewers.
