Kathy Behrens

Kathy manages all of the NBA's programs that coordinate league and player social responsibility efforts. She has been the driving force behind the NBA’s award-winning public service campaign, NBA Cares, which is widely recognized for its innovative programs and global reach.
Kathy began her career at the United Way of NYC before joining the administration of former NY Governor Mario Cuomo where she was initially his Regional Representative before becoming the Statewide Director of Regional Affairs and Services. Kathy also served for 6 years as the Executive Director of New York Cares, a nonprofit that mobilizes volunteers to help the city’s neediest citizens. Kathy serves on the Board of Directors for New York Cares and the Ad Council. She is also a trustee of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and serves on the University of Hartford’s Board of Regents. Additionally, she is on the Advisory Council for Athlete Ally and the Leadership Council for Share Our Strength.
