Fernando Ortiz Monasterio

Architect Fernando Ortiz Monasterio is founder and director of VERDEVERTICAL, an interdisciplinary workshop founded in Mexico City with more than 15 years of experience in the recovery of green areas in cities around the world through innovative systems of "urban nature". He has made more than 500 garden and vertical projects adding more 50,000 m2 to new green areas.
He is also founder and director of VIAVERDE, the largest "urban nature" project in the world, which will transform more than 1,000 concrete columns of the elevated viaduct of Mexico City, into more than 65,000 m2 of vertical gardens, generating important benefits environmental, aesthetic, psychological and social for citizens.
All the projects led by Arq. Ortiz Monasterio aim to achieve a perfect balance between the city and nature, a complex challenge that has allowed him to develop several patents, as well as being invited to participate in multiple conferences, congresses and international publications.
