Clare Donald

Clare started her professional career in production companies, producing for various award-winning directors on shoots around the world.

She admits her career path has certainly been unconventional. Upon graduating from Cambridge, she started as a runner in a commercials production company. She was producing within 3 years and soon awarded a series of accolades working alongside some great directors. Clare then worked in feature films for a while, and upon her return to advertising transferred to agency production - at Mother, JWT and AMV/BBDO. During her time at JWT as Deputy Head of TV she became the 6th most awarded producer in the world.

Clare became Head of Operations at Havas in 2010 managing digital, print and film production. Three years later in 2013, she was approached by Google and departed Adland to become Head of Operations at Google Creative Lab. She interacted with and harnessed some of the most cutting edge developments in technology and design over her three and a half year tenure, and then became Chief Production Officer at Ogilvy & Mather London – the Group’s first worldwide, as part of the new management team in June last year.

Here at Ogilvy, Clare has elevated the role of production within the agency and amongst an ever growing client list. Her primary focus is to establish the means to facilitate great, innovative creative work for the agency. This starts with encouraging learning and awareness of the big conversations going on throughout the industry, and access to inspiration in the realm of craft and creativity. She firmly believes as content in all its forms proliferates, the makers are more and more key to a successful business.

Clare is a board member of the British Arrows, sings in a local choir, and is on the development board of charity 'Working Chance',a charity which helps find employment opportunities for women who have criminal convictions or are care-leavers.
