Philip Bourchier O'Ferrall

Philip O’Ferrall is Head of Viacom Velocity International, the International Brand Engagement and Branded Content team within Viacom based in London & New York reporting directly to VIMN’s President Robert Bakish. Philip is also the co-founder and non-executive director of Travesty Media, alongside comedian and writer Alan Carr.

​O’Ferrall is responsible for building on the success of Viacom Velocity internationally, combining his solid commercial experience with a deep understanding of how to build best in class digital and social media engagement with award-winning content underpinned by ‘big data’ and measurement on and off network, for the benefit of Viacom International’s brands and commercial partners around the world.

As part of his prior remit as SVP, International Digital Media, VIMN, O’Ferrall led the global ex US business including the development of new content solutions, technology platforms and strategic partnerships with major industry players in the digital arena. These included new ventures, affiliate relationships, distribution and mobile as well as creating 360-degree TV commissioning strategy for new programming ensuring the world of digital and linear TV grew together.
During this period O’Ferrall was responsible for spearheading a number of innovative initiatives including the international launch of My Nick Jr – Nickelodeon’s first customized kids’ platform - in the UK, the US and China, the launch of YourMTVTop20, the world’s first social media powered music video chart; MTV Always On, MTV’s pop cultutre cross platform content factory continuing the expeditious roll-out of MTV VOD and the MTV News app and social voting campaigns including MTV Stars, MTV’s Hottest Summer Superstar.
Prior to overseeing VIMN’s international portfolio, O’Ferrall was SVP Digital, MTV UK. He joined VIMN (formerly MTV Networks) in 2007 from Twofour Group, the UK’s largest regional broadcast and production company, where he held the position of Executive Director, responsible for online, mobile and interactive strategy across the entire Twofour Group output.

Aside from his role at VIMN, O’Ferrall enjoys an active role in the Royal Television Society and is a voting member for both The International Emmy Awards and BAFTA and is a Non Executive Board Member of Script & Format Television Business Travesty Media Ltd. O’Ferrall was named in The Evening Standard’s 1,000 most influential people in London and listed in Debretts People of Power 2010, 11, 12, 13, & 2014.
