Mark Hedges

Mark Hedges, came to Time Inc, UK, formerly IPC Media, in 1989 from leading bloodstock auction house Tattersalls where he came up with the concept of the breeze-up sale. He was appointed Hunting and Racing Editor at Horse & Hound magazine by its esteemed and long-time Editor, Michael Clayton, a former war correspondent with high journalistic standards. Mark quickly became Deputy Editor there, before being asked to edit Shooting Times& Country magazine and then to be Editor-in-chief of the company’s 50 specialist equestrian and country titles. A geologist by training and a true countryman, he has edited Country Life since 2006, overseeing six consecutive ABC circulationrises, securing HRH The Prince of Wales as guest editor in 2013 and winning the PPA Specialist Consumer Magazine of the Year Award in 2014 and Scoop of the Year in the British Society of Magazine Editors Awards 2015, for the Country Life exclusive on the true face of Shakespeare. Mark lives with his family in Hampshire.
