Caitlin Ryan

After arriving from Australia in 1993, Caitlin Ryan began her Direct Marketing career in-house at HMV by launching their direct arm of HMV Music and, at the same time, beginning the start of a fascination of digital and direct communication in the 1-2-1 space. She then joined Proximity and as Executive Creative Director was repeatedly named as one of the top 3 Direct Creative Directors in Campaign because of her ‘passion for the work’.

Caitlin has worked on brands such as HMV, Shell, Sainsbury’s, P&G, Kraft Foods and J&J, and judges awards regularly. In 2012 she represented UK at Cannes on the Direct Jury, was Chair of Direct for Campaign Bigs and spokesperson for the industry in the House of Commons on the subject of ‘Use of Sexualised Imagery in Advertising’.

She is an above average cook, lousy at sports, greedy reader and is joint owner of two of London’s most popular and awarded cafés; Lantana in Fitzrovia and Salvation Jane in Shoreditch.
