Eugene Seleznev

Eugene, a first-generation US immigrant from Moscow, graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2010 with a B.S. in Computer Science. Afterwards, he returned home to silicon valley to dive headfirst into the high-tech industry, armed with a fresh, green programmer’s toolkit and an interest in artificial intelligence. Fast forward five years and three tech companies, having built software for Windows desktops, servers and even tapping quickly into virtualization, Eugene joined Microsoft and the Seeing AI team, working alongside blind developer Saqib Shaikh. With his sights set now on building accessibility and AI into software from the ground up, Eugene worked alongside Saqib and team in order to deliver the first version of Seeing AI to the iOS App Store in July of 2017. Since then, it’s been a road of learning and working with other teams within Microsoft on how we can teach software designers to architect from the ground up with accessibility in mind.
