The #AW2020 Future Is Female Shortlist Is Here!

Advertising Week has unveiled the 25 shortlisted nominees for its Future is Female Awards, in partnership with Ampersand, ahead of the full awards reveal on Wednesday evening at its Advertising Week 2020 event.

The 25 shortlisted nominees were each put forward by their peers from across the industry for demonstrating outstanding leadership within their respective field. As part of the nomination, each woman was described by her colleagues as going above and beyond her job description to have a meaningful and positive impact on the larger industry.

The judges – who comprised executives from Disney, Hulu, Ampersand, Bayer, Tiktok and more - had a tough time choosing between the different candidates. They described the list of nominated women as “an amazing group of fearless female nominees” and said “it was truly a privilege to read each and every one of these submissions.”

Advertising Week chair of judges and global head of education Ruth Mortimer added: “The judges were all extremely pleased to see such a fantastic group of nominees for the Future is Female awards this year. While it made the job of judging extremely hard, it also meant we were able to reflect our belief that leadership does not come in one form. We shortlisted women with very different achievements, roles and skills but all are leaders in their own way.”

The Future is Female Awards, in partnership with Ampersand, is judged on a combination of proven achievements: demonstrable ability to affect organisational change, commitment to external impact, ability to mentor others and professional endorsements.
