Zewiditu Jewel

Zewiditu Jewel is The President of The Brown Collective, a culinary food group which owns Cloudy Donut Co. The first and only 100% vegan donut shop in America. The Brown Collective hosts creatives of color to curate culinary experiences in the company's brick and mortar spaces from Maryland to New York. Zewiditu is a native Washingtonian, it was there where she witnessed first hand the importance of Black Entrepreneurship. As the city evolved through gentrification, Zewiditu felt compelled to spark change. This would come through Cloudy Donut Co., where Zewiditu serves as Operations Manager, Director of Partnerships and Social Media Manager. A Woman of many hats, she stands alongside her Partner, CEO & Founder of The Brown Collective and Cloudy Donut Co, Derrick Faulcon, together they are creating what Zewiditu calls “reverse gentrification.” This notion of bringing their black owned businesses into affluent white communities in order to bridge the wealth gap in America. Together, Zewiditu and Derrick work to change the world one culinary experience at a time. Zewiditu is also the Creator and Host of “Sober in The Morning, “ a mental wellness podcast aimed to redefine sobriety through conversations on mental health and wellness. “Being a Black Woman in America is an act of protest and sobering within itself. I am here as a reminder to what is possible, what is happening and what is to come.”
