Benedict works on technology and how to speed up and improve science and innovation. His main areas of focus are biotech and clean tech, as well as other deep tech areas. His written work has appeared in places such as Wired, Project Syndicate, Discourse Magazine and Prospect, while he has significant broadcast and speaking experience. He also runs partnerships with world-leading institutions such as the Stanford Health Innovation Lab.
He started his career as an economist in Her Majesty's Treasury, while he also became a speechwriter in the ministry. He has also worked in the Office of the President in Rwanda and on development issues in other countries.
