What You'll Learn from This Session...

  1. We uncovered four prevailing experiences common among diverse gamers from around the world.
  2. Identity Settling: While the ability to sample identities can be empowering for some gamers, lack of representation for diverse gamers often means they need to settle for identities they cannot relate to.
  3. Maintaining Joy: Diverse gamers ultimately agree that companies should step up and do more to support them, not just in eradicating bad actors but in amplifying those who help bring joy to gaming.
  4. Building Safe Spaces: For diverse gamers, to feel seen is to feel safe, and connection over a shared identity is the most straightforward proxy for feeling seen. However, gamers often need to dig deep and curate these spaces for themselves.
  5. Normalizing Everyday Inclusion: Diverse gamers want their inclusion to be intentional, and while they appreciate that advertisers are making efforts, they believe more can be done to normalize their presence in the gaming world.
