Mark Silverman was named President, National Networks, FOX Sports in January 2018. In this role, Silverman oversees all aspects of programming, production, marketing, and digital for FOX, FS1 and FS2 live events and studio shows driving the strategic direction that positions FOX Sports as a premier network sports broadcaster.
The 26-year media executive is no stranger to the FOX Sports family. As President of BTN, a joint venture between FOX Sports and the Big Ten Conference, Silverman has overseen all aspects of the network since its inception in 2007. He set the strategic direction and lead the day-to-day operations for the first internationally distributed conference-owned college television network. The network’s first and only president, Silverman guided the network to profitability within two years of launch, and helped the network achieve its distribution goals of over 60 million subscribers throughout the United States and Canada.
Under Silverman’s leadership, BTN has extended its portfolio beyond the traditional linear network with extensive digital media offerings such as BTN2Go and BTN Plus. BTN has received numerous marketing and programming awards including two Emmy nominations for The Journey: Big Ten Basketball and an Edward R. Murrow Award in the category of video sports reporting.
