Amanda de Cadenet is a creative force with a lifelong career in media. She began as a British television host at the young age of 15, became a sought-after photographer in her early teens .Whether through her TV shows or her books It’s Messy- On Boys Boobs and Bad Ass Women published by Harper Collins in 2018 or Girlgaze – How Girls see the World published by Rizzzoli in 2018 she continues to make media that speaks to women and girls of all ages.
As a media entrepreneur, de Cadenet is the creator of The Conversation, a series that showcases in-depth interviews on real topics with celebrated women. Whether it’s conversations with Lady Gaga, Sarah Silverman, Zoe Saldana, Chelsea Handler, Gwyneth Paltrow or discussions with devoted followers of her social channels, de Cadenet consistently delivers an honest and authentic voice. The series has been shown on cable and network TV in 18 countries, as well as featured online with over 10 million viewers. In January 2016, de Cadenet conducted an exclusive one-on-one interview with Presidential Candidate Secretary Clinton.
In February 2016, de Cadenet launched #Girlgaze,is an innovative platform that connects brands with our global community of female identifying creatives to create content that mobilizes, engages and inspires . What started as a social hashtag and online community has grown into the all-female run business whose mission is to close the gender gap by creating visibility and tangible job opportunities. De Cadenet leads the team in showing young women how they can harness their creativity and translate it into financial stability. To date ,Girlgaze has provided over 345 paid jobs and collaborated with brands like Gap, Teen Vogue and Warby Parker, and recently partnered with Glamour on a short film competition called #NewView, which was aimed at closing the gender gap for women behind the camera in Hollywood; the competition’s jury included Gia Coppola, Geena Davis, Rashida Jones, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Shonda Rhimes, Tracee Ellis Ross, Zendaya and more.
Amanda is currently making a new interview series for Showtime focused on social and political issues through the gender lens.
