Jessica Rodriguez

Jessica Rodriguez is president and chief operating officer of UCI Networks and chief marketing officer for Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America. Rodriguez plays an integral role partnering with every division to activate cohesive and unified strategies and promote the Company’s culture and vision.

As President and COO of UCI Networks, Rodriguez oversees entertainment, scheduling, production and marketing operations for the Company and leads the development and execution of all network strategies and operations. In this role, Rodriguez is responsible for UCI’s diversified content strategy that spans genres and includes expanded franchise properties. She also streamlines all the operations of UCI’s broadcast and cable networks, adjusting the organizational structure and allowing a seamless collaboration with partners like Televisa.

As CMO, Rodriguez leads an award-winning team driving engagement and culture across platforms. She is responsible for leading all consumer branding and messaging, on-air promotions, digital marketing, corporate marketing, art & design, consumer brand analytics and insights, as well as corporate research. She has spearheaded some of the Company’s most high-profile, award- winning campaigns, including UCI’s first-ever brand campaign, “Todo Es Posible” (Everything is Possible), a comprehensive, multi-platform initiative around Hispanic America’s core values, “Proof of Passion,” UCI’s bold content campaign highlighting UCI as the prime driver of consumer passion, and “Tu Gente Tu Voz,” a groundbreaking local news campaign that shed light on the deep connection between Univision’s local news teams and the communities they serve. Under Rodriguez’s stewardship, the Univision Agency also launched the national campaign, “Univision. La Que Nos Une.” (Univision. The One that Unites Us.), which brought a bold, fresh look to Univision Network’s on-air creative and a renewed focus on bringing together Hispanics as they approach a minority-majority population. Most recently she led the launch of “Se Habla USA,” a purpose-driven campaign to promote the value of diversity, inclusion and the important role Hispanic culture and Spanish language play in America.

Rodriguez joined UCI as an intern in the digital group in 2000 and later went on to launch Univision Puerto Rico. Under her leadership, the Univision Puerto Rico TV station built a loyal audience base and maintained ratings leadership in the market. In 2009, she took on the role of SVP of UCI’s Cable Networks and EVP of Program Scheduling and Promotions.
Rodriguez’s career in media has been lauded with multiple honors, including being recognized in Variety’s Marketing Impact Report; named one of People en Español’s 25 Most Powerful Women; featured in Cablefax’s exclusive lists: The Cablefax 100, Most Powerful Women in Cable and Most Influential Minorities in Cable; recognized as a Wonder Woman by Multichannel News; featured in Adweek’s lists of vital leaders in Tech, Media and Marketing; included in The Adweek 50 in 2017, 2016 and 2015; listed in MOVES Magazine’s 2014 Power Women issue, NAMIC’s 2015 Next Generation Leader Award, and New York City’s YMCA Outstanding Leadership Award. She was also a recipient of the 2017 Women of Distinction Award by Girl Scouts of Greater New York for her service as a role model of ethical leadership. Rodriguez is one of the
founders of UCI’s Women’s Leadership Council and its Women’s Leadership Academy in partnership with Smith College. She is active with many organizations including Girl Scouts and Ballet Hispánico.

Prior to Univision, Rodriguez was a project analyst at the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation. She began her career as an Analyst & Associate of the Private Banking Division at Chase Manhattan. Rodriguez earned a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Finance from Fordham University.
