Babak Radboy
Babak Radboy is the creative director of the break-out unisex line TELFAR; whose look-books, advertisements and collections have been shown as works of art at institutions such as the Musée d'Art Moderne, Paris, The New Museum New York and the ICA London.
From holding fashion-week after parties at a Times Square White Castle, to producing his magazine Bidoun days after the Tahir Square revolution in Cairo, to attempting to sell a $50MM mansion at Frieze London — his projects push the boundaries of culture and commerce and natively generate reams of press. To date his clients, which range from Kanye West to Hugo Boss have never spent a dollar on advertising.
Case in point: his recent creative directorship of the IXth Berlin Biennale which tapped art photographer Roe Etheridge and cult writer Chris Kraus for its campaign, drew journalists into waves of moral outrage and staunch defense — making the biennial the most talked about and highly attended in the city's history.
