Jay Sampson

As EVP of Global Advertising Sales and Customer Operations, Jay’s role within Machinima is to scale ad sales by expanding and deepening the company’s partnerships with global brands and agencies.

A seasoned executive with nearly 20+ years of media sales experience, Jay joined Machinima in August 2011 and has lead the company to new heights in advertiser adoption and market position. In December 2012, Adweek placed Machinima on top of it’s annual “Hot List” as “Best Web Video” network, citing that Machinima represents a revolution happening in media.

Prior to Machinima, Mr. Sampson work at Microsoft Corporation for 14 years, most recently serving as General Manger of Microsoft’s Emerging Media Sales where he was responsible for defining the go-to-market strategies across the important new media offerings in gaming (Xbox), mobile, video and (advanced) television.

A graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Arts, Mr. Sampson sits on several civic and industry boards as well as in an advisory role for ZS Associates, a global management consulting firm specializing in sales and marketing consulting, capability building, and outsourcing.

He resides in the Seattle area with his wife and three daughters.
