Alex Hayes spent more than a decade working as a journalist in the UK and Australia. In London he honed his craft working for several local newspapers across London, covering everything from village fetes to murder trials, a lot of politics, and was a regular contributor to a range of national papers.
In 2012 he became news editor of Australian media and marketing industry title B&T, taking over as editor later that year. He took over as editor of Mumbrella in 2013, working with his team to create real investigative journalism and drive real change in the industry through a series of impactful campaigns.
He also founded Mumbrella’s paid content arm and oversaw and curated its extensive events portfolio.
In 2017 he founded Clear Hayes Consulting, working with companies including Facebook, Advertising Week, Outbrain and Ekas. Notable campaigns include the number one business podcast Face 2 Face. He is also the editor of AW360 APAC, Advertising Week’s companion content platform.
