Tim Hyland

Tim Hyland is the Associate Director, Creative Strategy at creator company, Whalar.

Tim is responsible for developing creative strategies for both new business pitches and retained clients, leveraging creators to creatively direct innovative entry points for brands. In his role, he has successfully ideated campaigns spanning the spectrum from AR filters to metaverse activations to NFT drops.

Tim takes pleasure in working with creatives to craft engaging media that elevates artists with genuine craft and passion, moving far beyond the now-dated influencer dynamics. He is particularly excited by the ever-evolving Creator Economy, where opportunities shift from traditional billboards to niche online communities, cultivating authentic brand-creator alignment and positively impacting communities with products they truly value.

Before joining Whalar, Tim was the Strategy and Creative Director for OpenClub, an innovative Web 3 education agency. Prior to that, he was the Creative Director of Bolt Digital, working with exciting D2C brands. Tim also co-founded a creative agency where he ideated, shot, and edited paid social video content for businesses ranging from startups to global brands like Apple and Philips.

Beyond all that, Tim has directed music videos for bands which featured in Rolling Stone, Clash, The Independent, and even on C4’s Sunday Brunch in the UK, and if that wasn’t enough, before his directorial career, he toured all over the world in a tiny tour van from the young age of 14, as the lead singer of a band.
