David Merritt

David Merritt is the Senior Executive Editor for News in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Previously, David was Senior Executive Editor for Asia Pacific, where he oversaw 26 bureaus and more than 450 reporters, editors and managers. Since joining Bloomberg in 2000, he has held various positions including Managing Editor for South Asia in Mumbai, and leader of the European stocks and speed teams. David started his career at Bloomberg in sales, helping traders at Merrill Lynch navigate the dot-com bubble with the help of their Bloomberg terminals, before working to grow the business in the Netherlands. David holds a first class degree in English Language and Literature from Christ Church, Oxford University.
