Alex was elected in 2017 and quickly made a name for himself as a leading voice for transformative climate policy.
In 2019 he set up the Net Zero All-Party Parliamentary Group to help secure a low carbon and clean industrial and economic future for the UK, embed zero carbon solutions and accelerate net zero growth, innovation and global influence.
In 2021 Alex was appointed as Shadow Minister for Nature and the Domestic Environment in the Shadow DEFRA Team.
He is also an Executive Committee Member for SERA, Labour's Environment Campaign.
