Sholto Douglas-Home

Sholto Douglas-Home joined Expo 2020 Dubai in January 2021 after 12 years as the Board-level Chief Marketing Officer of Hays Plc., a UK-listed global staffing company with a stock market valuation of £2.5 billion and over 10,000 employees. At Hays, he led the company's marketing function of 175 employees based in over 30 countries.

Prior to Hays, Sholto was the Global Head of Brand & Marketing Communications at Reuters (now Thomson Reuters). He originally joined the news and financial information firm to launch a digital start-up, Reuters Kalends.

Sholto's career began in advertising before he joined BT and became Head of Advertising, managing the award-winning ‘It’s Good to Talk’ call stimulation campaign, fronted by Bob Hoskins. In 1998, Sholto was seconded from BT to the UK government to be the Director of Sales and Marketing for the UK's Millennium Celebrations programme, headlined by the Millennium Dome at Greenwich.

Sholto graduated with a BSc. in Management Sciences from the University of Warwick's Business School. He has chaired the Marketing Group of Great Britain and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. In 2008, Sholto was invited by the UK Minister of Sport to chair a DCMS Working Party to resolve a complex commercial dispute within the world of horseracing.
