Karen Stacey
Karen Stacey is Digital Cinema Media’s (DCM) CEO, and is currently overseeing a transformation of cinema’s role in the modern media mix with a strategy to align with the AV market. The past year alone has seen brands and their agencies pull off a string of media firsts in the space, further enhancing the big screen’s everlasting ability to captivate audiences through its unique immersive and dynamic environment.
The market leader in UK cinema advertising, DCM provides 3,207 screens at 517 sites for advertisers and sells 83% of the cinema advertising market through exhibitors including ODEON, Cineworld, Vue, Curzon, Everyman, Picturehouse and many independent cinemas.
Prior to DCM, Karen worked in the media industry for over 25 years, holding senior positions at Bauer Media UK and Channel 4, working across all platforms including TV, radio, magazines and digital. In 2016, she was named as one of Campaign’s commercial sales chiefs of the year for her work in cinema.
Karen is also a member of WACL, the Marketing Society and The Solus Club, which only opened its doors to women in 2013. She is a huge film lover and a fan of most sports, despite preferring to watch rather than taking part! Karen lives with her husband and 12-year-old daughter in London.
