Viviane Paxinos

Based in London, Paxinos oversees the UK partnership teams across Discovery Networks International and Eurosport. Having joined in November 2015, Paxinos is responsible for maximizing the commercial value of the joint Eurosport and Discovery portfolio, as well as building extensive partnerships with advertisers, sponsors, distributors and content producers.

Discovery’s unrivalled international footprint includes an average of 12 channels in each of the 220 countries and territories it operates in. Discovery’s international business has experienced substantial organic growth over recent years, led by its immersive digital strategy, engaging communities across all screens and making progress in diversifying how, where and when consumers are reached. A further growth factor lies in the expansion and performance of its global flagship channels including Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, ID: Investigation Discovery, Science and Turbo. Discovery has strengthened and deepened its presence in key markets and across multiple content genres by acquiring Eurosport – the number-one sports destination in Europe. Across the business, Discovery is continuing to invest in content, particularly in sports through deals including an agreement with the International Olympic Committee in June 2015 to make Discovery and Eurosport home of the Olympic Games across Europe for the next decade.

Paxinos has over 15 years of media and advertising experience with some of the world’s largest media companies, including Viacom and Comcast. Most recently she led the ad sales operation at A+E Networks UK, where she shaped the company’s strategy for growth, both in the UK and across their international territories.

Prior to A+E Networks UK, Paxinos held senior commercial roles at BBC Worldwide, where she developed the local advertising business across EMEA, and spearheaded the creation of a global branded entertainment division.

Paxinos received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Concordia University, and completed the Emerging Leaders General Management Program at London Business School.
