Tess Alps
Tess is the Chair of Thinkbox, the body owned by the UK broadcasters, whose role is to help advertisers get the best out of today’s diverse, multiplatform TV. She set up the company in 2006 and was its first CEO.
Immediately prior to this she was the Chairman of the PHD Group in the UK. In her 13 years with
PHD she played a variety of roles and set up several of its specialist divisions.
After university and drama school, she fell into advertising by accident, and ended up as an ITV Sales Director before joining PHD.
Tess is a past President and Honorary member of WACL, Fellow of the Marketing Society, Fellow
of the RTS, a member of BAFTA and the MGGB. She sits on advisory boards for the ASA and
NABS.
In 2007 she won the Outstanding Achievement award from Women in Film and Television and in
2013 she was voted Media Industry Leader of the Decade by readers of Haymarket’s brand titles.
