Philippe Botteri

Philippe joined Accel in 2011 after working in the technology industry for more than 15 years, including close to ten years in Silicon Valley. Philippe is leading Accel's Big Data Fund efforts in Europe and also focuses on investments in security, cloud computing and digital services. He is responsible for the firm’s investments in Blablacar, the leading European ridesharing community, Docusign, the global SaaS leader in electronic signature and Hailo the global cab e-hailing mobile network. He also co-led Accel's investment in HouseTrip, the next generation holiday rental booking website and Crowdstrike, a big data security company. Prior to joining Accel, Philippe worked five years in the Menlo Park office of Bessemer Venture Partners, a global venture firm, where he led or supported investments in early and late stage companies in the US and Europe, including: Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ: CSOD), Eloqua: NASDAQ: ELOQ, acq. By Oracle), Criteo (NASDAQ: CRTO), Bizo, Intacct and Retail Solutions. Before joining Bessemer, Philippe spent eight years with the high-tech practice of McKinsey&Co. in Silicon Valley and Europe, specializing in the software and Internet industries. During that time, Philippe led the development of Internet start-ups, was a key contributor to the firm's work with "on-demand" software, and advised clients on sales, marketing, and growth strategies. Philippe also served in the French Navy. In addition to his native French, he is fluent in Italian and loves Italian food. Philippe lives in London with his wife Helene and likes surfing, snowboarding and martial arts. A frequent speaker at cloud-computing events, Philippe has authored severa "Cracking the code". Philippe holds an MS in Science from the Ecole Polytechnique and an MS in Applied Engineering from the Ecole des Mines.
