Sue Emmas is Associate Artistic Director at the Young Vic in London and Artistic Director of the Regional Theatre Young Directors Scheme (RTYDS) in Manchester.
She has worked in artist development for the last 20 years and created a range of initiatives for potential, new, early career and experienced directors and theatre makers.
At the Young Vic the Genesis Network supports over 1000 directors, designers and producers providing exceptional opportunities to connect, develop skills and make work.
Sue has run RTYDS since 2007. The scheme is a professional development programme for directors and theatre makes across England with an emphasis on finding and nurturing directors from backgrounds that are currently under-represented in theatre.
She is on the board of HighTide Festival, Live Theatre in Newcastle, and Common Theatre.
