Alex Barker
Alex Barker is the global media editor of the Financial Times, leading coverage of the news, entertainment and advertising industry. He started the role in September after returning from an eight-year posting in Brussels. There he served as European diplomatic editor during the migration crisis; as an EU correspondent covering bank regulation at the height of the eurozone's financial troubles; and as Brussels bureau chief, taking the job a few months before the Brexit referendum. Since joining the FT in 2005, Alex covered Westminster as a UK political correspondent, and has reported for the FT from in New York, Washington and Ankara. He started his career in current affairs television.
