David Trovell

A 20-year veteran of the media industry.
David’s role at UM Japan is to help key clients grow their business in the fast changing media and consumer landscape.
His international experience helps ensure that UM Japan is constantly exploring new opportunities created by technology, but that all thinking is consumer focused and delivers real business results.
David started his career in London as a print buyer with OMD, then a planner with MediaCom. In 2004 he moved to Australia, working with Starcom and OMD as Head of Strategy.
After two years in Manila as Managing Director for IPG agency, Initiative, David relocated with his family to Tokyo.
His understanding of how brands can tap into cultural opportunities and human motivation has led to multiple awards including 4 Cannes Lions and the Australian Media Grand Prix.
