Ross Rowbury

Ross Rowbury has been head of Edelman Japan for nine years.  Prior to joining Edelman he was Senior Managing Director and COO at PRAP Japan, one of Japan's largest domestic PR agencies. 
 
Ross' experience in Japan spans four decades, beginning as a student in the late seventies.  He began his working career in finance and investment banking at Sanyo Securities and later in senior positions with Crosby Securities and BZW (now Barclay's capital)
 
After leaving the finance industry Ross joined the team at Gavin Anderson (now Kreab) Japan where he led a number of innovative campaigns for contested M&A transactions, market entry programs and acquisitions particularly in the life insurance, pharmaceutical, retail and telecommunications. 
 
At PRAP Ross continued his work in capital markets but broadened his experience with activist funds and corporate restructuring and bankruptcy.  He was also responsible for overseeing PRAP's tech practice, consumer practice and worked on a number of crisis and issues related campaigns for clients over a broad range of industries.
 
Joining Edelman in 2010, Ross advises C-Suite executives in both Japanese and non-Japanese organizations on issues, corporate branding, narrative construction, communications marketing, executive visibility, media strategy and overall internal and external communications strategy.  Under his leadership Edelman Japan has become the fastest growing and most innovative global PR agency in Japan.
