Clare Starling

Clare Starling is the General Manager of the Gold Coast, Northern NSW and Ipswich businesses of News Corp Australia, and is responsible for the leadership and growth of 16 publications from Coffs Harbour to the Gold Coast and the community and customers they serve.

At a time where news media has never before required more creative and innovative thinking, Clare is able to leverage her 20 years’ experience in the industry to bring together her team of 170 staff to find and deliver customer-centric solutions, while strategically positioning the mastheads’ brand for success not just now, but for the future.

Clare’s career began at News Corp Australia at age 19 at the North Shore Times, and she has since held senior positions including General Manager of Sales for the NewsLocal network in Sydney and State Sales Director for News Community Media where we ran up to 20 operating statements a week and managing budgets more than $230 million.

Clare has also worked for some of Australia’s leading magazine brands at Emap Publications and has worked as an Account Director within a full service media agency.

When not at work, Clare can be found enjoying time in the outdoors with her husband and two young daughters.
